Parcels can be split by placing nodes and boundaries that cross one or more parcels. Parcels can also be split by area.

In order to split an area by placing a boundary, the placed boundary must be a valid topology feature. Once the boundary is placed, the Split Dialog opens, which is used to identify the source and target parcels. Default target properties are copied from the source parcel. Target parcel properties can be changed by right-clicking on the target area and using the menu.
